Insufficient supplies or resources can hamper emergency personnel in conducting triage, treatment and transport in an efficient and timely manner. For years, first responders have stripped needed equipment from other responding resources to supply treatment areas. This limits the amount of supplies available for secondary responses and negatively affects operational readiness.
The era of medical supply trailers **(MST's) was born. They feature doors that open on each side, allowing access to 100% of the storage space. The compact trailers are designed to be transported by vehicles equipped with a tow-hitch.
The brain child of Gene Maloney of Rescue U, MST’s contain boxes of back-up supplies, specially designed trauma kits and roll-a-stretchers, to treat and move patients on scene. Each trailer also contains trauma patient packs (see picture to left) to protect patients from inclement weather, back boards and a mass casualty management system. Units can be customized with additional items upon request.
After conducting in-depth post-incident analyses on many recent large-scale mass casualty disasters (man-made and environmental), Mr. Maloney discovered a need to increase the surge capacity of field medical systems used by fire departments. Yet another brain child born, a 27-foot trailer was designed to be deployed as a casualty collection point ***(CCP). It’s a well-stocked trailer including sufficient supplies with the ability to set up and maintain a limited field hospital. When used in combination with one or more of the compact MST’s, care for up to 250 patients can be initiated prior to transporting them to area hospitals for definitive care. The CCP trailer has six doors on each side for easy access to 100% of its contents. (See picture. Contact us for detailed list of items in field hospital unit.)

Suggested uses include deployment readiness at institutions, college campuses, large corporate campuses, highway patrol, sport complexes, airports, even hospitals. Use of MST’s has become an important asset in the mitigation of disasters. They increase the speed and efficiency at which first responders can react making the difference between lives saved or lives gone.

Disaster Trauma Kit zips around the edge and opens up like a book. The contents are stored in clear plastic pockets so the medic can easily see what they need. The kit comes filled and ready for use. It includes: sterile 4X4’s for the smaller wounds, 5X9’s for the larger wounds. Non sterile 4X4’s, 4” roller bandages, 1” medical tape, triangular bandages, irrigation water packs, burn towel kits, arm splint, leg splint. gloves, and face masks with eye shields.
Roll-A-Stretcher is a soft stretcher with eight rope filled handles with a foam pad built in to protect rescuers hands. There’s a built in foam pad to make it more comfortable for and insulate the patient from ground thermal problems. (heat or cold) By grabbing the first and third handles it forms a stair chair for going up and down hills or stairs. Also, there are slots down the side of the stretcher that pipe poles can be inserted to form a two-man litter. There is no need to strap the patient to the stretcher. They are cradled in the lift and transport.
Trauma Patient Packs rolls out to form a large clean area in which to place the patient. It has a built in foam pad to make it more comfortable for the patient as well as to help insulate the patient from the heat or cold of the surface.
Triage Management Kit contains four 16 X 20 color coded tarps. (red, green, yellow & black) It also has 6 hard hats and vest, (red, green, yellow, black and 2 blue), 6 clipboards and 50 triage tags.
